Learn a New Craft ....be creative...

have fun!

Welcome to my Workshop introduction page . I have been organising and delivering workshops since 2005, although I have been making felt since 1996. I love what I do and I enjoy sharing my techniques and knowledge with likeminded people. My specialism is Sculptural Felt, I just love the magical process of creating a 3 dimensional sculpture from soft wool. My main focus in teaching is based on learning and accumulating techniques. Once you acquire a variety of techniques this enables you to bring your ideas and designs to life. I love to experiment, its the only way for your work to evolve, don't stand still too long! I like well made felt and I share this with my students, constantly working to achieve the best you possibly can.

In 2022 I have organised another workshop covering different techniques which you can use after the workshop. The workshop takes place in Snainton Village Hall in North Yorkshire, between Pickering and Scarborough on the main A170 road. Very easy to find and easy free parking on site. I provide all the equipment and materials you need during the workshop, although I do ask you bring your own sharp scissors and two towels.

I provide endless cups of coffee and tea along with biscuits and afternoon cake. Please bring your own packed lunch. All workshops are on a Saturday and start at 10am and finish at 4pm.

Workshops are suitable for all abilities as I work with students to suit their experience. There are usually ten people in each workshop.  Come with a friend or come on your own and make new friends. The workshops are always friendly and welcoming, spend a day with likeminded people. You can read previous reviews here.

Felt Pod

Join me for a day to experiment with techniques to create your own Pod in the company of likeminded people.

I will provide a resist template to base your Pod on. I will then demonstrate a variety of techniques to add single & multiple tails, frill edges, multiple openings & decorative surfaces.

I will have a collection of beachfinds to inspire your work along with samples showing varying techniques.

I will provide most equipment & all materials required on the day. You will need to bring two towels, a sharp pair of scissors & a notepad/pen.

I will provide refreshments throughout the day but please bring your own packed lunch.

We will take a sensible approach to Covid in a large airy, well ventilated hall. Each participant will have their own work table which will be comfortably spaced out.
