Welcome and thank you for visiting.
Jenny is an award winning Feltmaker with nearly 30 years of feltmaking experience. She has taught all around the UK and Europe both as a guest tutor and at her own self organised events in North Yorkshire. You can view Jenny's past experience on her CV.

Primarily a Felt Maker specialising in miniature sculptural form combined with found objects, Jenny also enjoys exploring many other mediums such as working with metals, wood and printmaking.

Making is a way of life. It is a reflection of how we are feeling, it is a way of relaxing and resting the mind,

it helps you unwind. Occasionally, when the opportunity arises it is a good focus to include work in an exhibition

Jenny will have work in a group exhibition at Burton Constable Hall in East Yorkshire from May 14th for two months. There will be a meet the makers day on Sunday 26th May.

Jenny will also be participating in a group exhibition at Scampston Hall North Yorkshire between 14th to 18th August 2024. To read more about the exhibition please read the blog posts. Seven group members will be showing their work and will be in attendance daily to chat further about wool and textiles.  Jenny will be offering a morning workshop at Scampston Hall Garden Conservatory in North Yorkshire on Sunday 18th August 2024.

Jenny has a blog which is updated occasionally with details of upcoming events and news. If you enjoy the blog please leave a comment, it would be lovely to know someone is reading it !  The intention is to hopefully start writing some helpful feltmaking tips that may be useful to you in a small way.

If you would like to hear about future news you will find details of new workshops and events on Facebook and Instagram. I am no longer sending news letters via a mailing list. I will also add the occasional blog on this website with news. Thank you to everyone who previously subscribed to my mailing list, times change and it seems it is now outdated.

Upcoming Workshop:

Scampston Hall, North Yorkshire

Sunday 18th August 2024

10.30 to 12.30 (fully booked)

£40

As part of Embracing Wool’s four day exhibition at Scampston Hall in the Richardson Conservatory I will be offering a two hour workshop for adults.

A beautiful venue to learn a new craft in. Spend the day at Scampston and you will have time to view the exhibition and perhaps visit the on-site cafe. There is no charge to view the exhibition or access the cafe and plant sales. However if you wish to enter the gardens there is a charge. Historic Houses and RHS members can access the gardens without charge on certain days, however please check their website for days and conditions.

Combining my love of pebbles and the world of plants you will learn how to create a small hollow pebble vessel in which you can display a small succulent or cactus once dry.

During this workshop you will learn:

- how to use a resist

- how to lay out your wool

- how to decorate the surface

- how to cut and seal an opening

- how to create a firm felt hollow vessel

- how to rinse and dry to retain 3d form

The price includes all materials required during the workshop. There will be a choice of natural undyed wool or dyed colourful wool.

I will also provide most equipment needed, however you will need to bring your own scissors and two towels.
